Angola's Ministry of Finance published an account of the ARSEG Connecta conference, where the insurance regulator reiterated its priorities of modern regulation, risk-based supervision, greater market professionalization and stronger consumer protection. The conference focused on using innovation to modernize the insurance and pension fund sectors, expand inclusion and strengthen protection for individuals and businesses. The remarks also called for coordinated strategies across financial and telecommunications regulators, digital financial service providers, payment platforms and mobile network operators. Inclusive insurance was identified as a means of improving financial resilience and social protection, particularly for low- and middle-income groups that lack adequate coverage.
