The Bank of the Lao launched its annual 2025 training programme on party and state inspection work for the banking sector at the Banking Institute, aimed at strengthening the knowledge and practical skills of staff responsible for inspection functions. The opening was co-chaired by Arun Boonyong, a Standing Party Committee member, Chair of the Party Inspection Committee and Deputy Governor of the Bank of the Lao, and Dr Daoboualapha Bavongphet, a Standing Party Committee member and Vice Chair of the Central Party Inspection Committee. More than 60 participants attended from departments within the central bank, regional branches and state and state joint venture commercial banks. The curriculum focuses on deepening understanding of key resolutions, orders and other documents, with party inspection covering party activities, oversight of party organisations and members, and handling cases of violations, and state inspection covering reviews of implementation outcomes and procurement processes; the programme also includes discussion and exchange of lessons between theory and practice.
