The Central Bank of Taiwan approved EnTie Commercial Bank to conduct non-discretionary individually managed money trust business denominated in foreign currencies. It also authorized Bank of Taiwan, Mega International Commercial Bank and First Commercial Bank to issue negotiable certificates of deposit denominated in foreign currencies. As of the end of August 2026, Taiwan had 3,451 authorized banks, comprising 3,411 domestic banks, three mainland Chinese banks and 37 foreign banks.
