Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) awarded the “Aquí Sabemos de Pensiones” seal to the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo, recognising its commitment to pension education for its workforce as part of efforts to strengthen pension literacy in the business sector. The seal publicly recognises institutions that train more than 70% of their staff on fundamental aspects of the pension system and is designed to build a network of entities engaged in financial education. The award also advances SIPEN’s inter-institutional agreement with the Dominican Federation of Chambers of Commerce (Fedocámaras), under which chambers of commerce are expected to act as replicators of pension knowledge among their members nationwide and promote retirement planning and long-term saving, with the Santo Domingo chamber described as the first chamber of commerce in the country to receive the distinction.
