The Central Bank of Brazil has ordered the extrajudicial liquidation of Advanced Corretora de Câmbio Ltda., a São Paulo-based foreign exchange brokerage. The measure was triggered by a deterioration in the firm’s economic and financial situation and by serious breaches of the rules governing institutions in Brazil’s National Financial System. Advanced is classified in prudential segment S5 and described as having low representativeness in the system, ranking 56th in the Central Bank’s foreign exchange ranking based on 2025 activity. In 2025, its operations accounted for 0.081% of the financial volume and 0.14% of the number of foreign exchange transactions processed in the National Financial System. The Central Bank indicated it will continue to take steps to determine responsibility, with findings potentially resulting in administrative sanctions and referrals to competent authorities. Under the law, the assets of the institution’s controllers and former administrators are rendered unavailable.
