Greece’s Ministry of National Economy and Finance published remarks by Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis to Parliament’s Institutions and Transparency Committee, where he reported that Euronext and the Athens Stock Exchange had reached an agreement for Euronext to acquire the Athens Stock Exchange. He framed the transaction as expanding funding and growth options for Greek listed companies through greater access to international investors. The minister described the deal as one of the largest foreign investments of recent years and linked it to a strengthening of Greece’s credibility and position in European and international markets. He indicated that the government will examine the details of the agreement and follow its implementation.
