The Japan Financial Services Agency has promulgated and brought into force amendments to the Order on Authorized Specified Insurers, etc., updating the prescribed format for insurers’ business reports. The changes revise terminology and “precautions for description” in Attachment Form No. 1, which sets the business report template. The revisions are framed as alignment with the Corporate Accounting Standards Commission’s Announcement of Corporate Accounting Standard No. 34 “Accounting Standards for Leasing” and related updates to regulations on financial statement terminology, forms and preparation methods. The Financial Services Agency also noted that it consulted publicly on the draft amendments from January 16 to February 16, Reiwa 8, and received no special opinions.
