The National Bank of Georgia presented the concept for the Georgia Financial Markets Development Program, or GMAP, at an international forum organized with the Georgia Financial Markets Treasuries Association and in partnership with Nasdaq. The program aims to broaden access to risk management and hedging instruments and develop a more liquid, internationally accessible securities market. A central technology component is the previously announced shared treasury management system based on Nasdaq Calypso. Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, Liberty Bank, Terabank and Basisbank will use the platform across the treasury operations lifecycle, enabling them to manage core risks through common infrastructure aligned with international standards and offer more varied hedging products. The project may later expand to additional banks. The GMAP forum is planned as an annual event, with further activities supporting the program’s objectives scheduled throughout the year.
