Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Finance published a draft government resolution to amend the rules governing the crediting of assets to the National Fund, use of the Fund, and the formats and rules for the annual report on the Fund’s formation and use. The proposed changes would establish a procedure for crediting repayments of budget loans previously issued from the National Fund before 1 January 2024. The draft is prepared under Article 59(2)(7) of Kazakhstan’s Budget Code and links the crediting process to an audit opinion adopted following a state audit. The Ministry indicates the amendments are not expected to have negative socio-economic or legal consequences.
