A joint decision by Greece’s Ministry of National Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection introduces a 12-month suspension of compulsory enforcement measures against the movable and immovable property of individuals and legal entities affected by the June to August 2025 wildfires. The stay covers, among other measures, auctions, seizures, evictions and personal detention orders, and also suspends deadlines for filing legal remedies in pending enforcement proceedings. Maintenance claims are excluded. Eligibility is limited to individuals and businesses certified as affected by the competent Regions and enrolled in the state aid framework or the housing assistance and household contents compensation programme, and it applies to delineated affected areas in the Regional Units of East Attica, Euboea, Arcadia, Corinthia, Messinia, Lasithi, Chania, Chios, Arta, Preveza, Zakynthos, Aetolia-Acarnania, Achaea, Ilia and Thesprotia, with the moratorium starting for each area on the date the wildfire occurred.
