Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) appointed and swore in Adi Surahmat as Head of the OJK North Maluku Provincial Office, a newly established regional office intended to strengthen financial services supervision and public services in eastern Indonesia. The office began operating on 6 October 2025 and covers North Maluku province. The new office is intended to improve the effectiveness of local oversight of the financial services sector, including market-conduct supervision, delivery of financial education and literacy programmes, and support for regional economic development. North Maluku previously fell under the remit of the OJK office for North Sulawesi, Gorontalo and North Maluku in Manado, and the establishment of the new office is positioned as part of OJK’s 2024–2027 roadmap to open additional regional offices across Indonesia.
