The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) took part in a dialogue roundtable with the UK Minister for Trade Policy and Economic Security at the Department for Business and Trade, Chris Bryant MP, during his visit to Argentina, focused on open finance and its role in expanding access to financial solutions for individuals and businesses. Held with financial services industry representatives and the Argentina Fintech Chamber, the session covered progress and market growth opportunities in Argentina and the United Kingdom, alongside the outlook for open finance. CNV President Roberto E. Silva pointed to Argentina’s regulation of PSAVs and tokenisation as innovative. UK participants included Ambassador David Cairns and HM Trade Commissioner for Latin America and the Caribbean Jonathan Knott, and CNV board member Laura Herbón also attended. The meeting followed a December engagement between CNV staff and the British Embassy in Buenos Aires that initiated a work agenda to promote investment in Argentina, and it builds on Silva’s participation in UK Fintech Week and the Finance of Tomorrow event in Rio de Janeiro.
