The South Korea Financial Services Commission (FSC) announced that 2025 Korea Fintech Week has opened for a three-day run from November 26 to November 28 at the aT Center in Seoul, positioning the event around the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and the personalization of financial services. The expo has been billed as the largest to date, with 99 exhibition booths and 128 participating businesses and organizations, and around 5,200 pre-registrations as of 17:00 on November 25. In opening remarks, FSC Chairman Lee Eog-weon highlighted the need for an AI transition in the financial sector and set out plans to promote large-scale AI investment and overhaul financial-sector AI infrastructure, establish regulatory grounds to supply capital to fintech businesses, and create foundations for introducing innovative financial services. The program also includes a K-Fintech 30 selection ceremony to designate 10 promising Korean fintech firms for future financing and investment-related support, while overseas participation in the global hall rises to 31 organizations from 15 last year. More than a dozen seminars during the event will cover global fintech trends, AI-fostered fintech models, digital assets and fintech investment, with proceedings to be livestreamed on YouTube.
