The National Bank of Ukraine has updated the list of currencies for which it sets the official hryvnia exchange rate, effective 31 March 2025. The changes shift 11 currencies from monthly to daily rate setting and exclude 15 currencies from the list used for official hryvnia exchange rates. Daily official hryvnia exchange rates will now be set for the Algerian dinar, baht, UAE dirham, dong, lari, Lebanese pound, Malaysian ringgit, Saudi riyal, Serbian dinar, taka, and Tunisian dinar. The Russian ruble, Belarusian ruble, Brazilian real, Armenian dram, Dominican peso, Iraqi dinar, Iranian riyal, Libyan dinar, Moroccan dirham, New Taiwan dollar, Pakistan rupee, som, somoni, Turkmenistan new manat, and Uzbekistan sum have been removed from the list. The update follows the NBU’s revised approach to determining the currency list, including the cancellation of the list of currencies previously subject to monthly official exchange rate setting, and is attributed to increased automation that reduces operational constraints and risks in daily calculations. No other changes were made to the lists of currencies and investment metals for official hryvnia exchange rates.
