The Bank of Italy’s Board of Directors, on a proposal from the Governor, has nominated Sergio Nicoletti Altimari as Deputy Governor on the Governing Board. Altimari is currently Managing Director and Director General for Economics, Statistics and Research. Made pursuant to Article 18 of the Bank of Italy’s Statute, the nomination requires approval by a decree of the President of the Republic, prompted by the President of the Council of Ministers in agreement with the Minister for the Economy and Finance after consulting the Council of Ministers.
