The Jordan Securities Commission held a workshop for financial services firms on the 2025 solvency and capital adequacy instructions, which take effect Sept. 12, 2026, following a 270-day implementation period. The rules replace solvency requirements dating to 1995 and advance the commission’s broader effort to strengthen prudential oversight and investor protection while allowing firms to operate efficiently. The framework updates regulatory ratios and limits, introduces capital adequacy requirements that link regulatory capital to firms’ risk exposures, and revises calculations for liquidity and net equity. It also consolidates previous regulatory decisions and circulars covering receivables, provisions for doubtful debts, real estate holdings and holding periods, and the eligibility of subordinated loans. Updated reporting forms are intended to standardize implementation and give the commission a more comprehensive view of firms’ financial positions.
