The Bank of France announced the appointment of Mathilde Schneider as Director of Communication, effective from mid-February 2026. Reporting to the Secretary General, she will be responsible for defining and leading the Bank’s communications strategy. The remit also covers enhancing the visibility of the Bank’s publications and historical heritage, and supporting the institution’s ongoing transformation through stronger economic education, transparency and engagement with stakeholders. Schneider succeeds Fabrice Hermel and previously served as Director of Communication at Agence française de développement (AFD) since 2018, following earlier senior roles in communications agencies including Havas and a start in journalism in France and the United States.
