The National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine has authorized securities from five foreign exchange-traded funds registered in Germany and Ireland for circulation in Ukraine. The decision gives licensed Ukrainian depository institutions and securities traders a legal basis to record the securities and offer them to Ukrainian investors in accordance with domestic law. All five instruments are UCITS ETFs and none of their issuers appears in Ukraine’s state sanctions register. Although the securities are not currently recorded in the Ukrainian Central Securities Depository system, they may be held through the National Depository of Ukraine’s account with Clearstream Banking Luxembourg. The funds are subject to UCITS diversification, liquidity and asset-segregation requirements, but investors remain exposed to market risk, brokerage commissions and fund expenses.
