The National Bank of Moldova announced that Governor Anca Dragu held a bilateral discussion with Alfred Kammer, Director of the International Monetary Fund’s European Department, focusing on Moldova’s recent economic developments, progress under IMF-supported programmes, and reform priorities as the country advances its European integration process. Dragu pointed to reforms aimed at macroeconomic stability, institutional modernisation, the digitalisation of financial services and alignment with European standards, framing the central bank’s role as building infrastructure for a transparent and resilient economy. The update also notes her appreciation for the IMF’s continued support in maintaining economic stability and advancing reforms, in the context of the 29–30 May 2025 high-level conference in Dubrovnik organised by the IMF and the Croatian National Bank.
