The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority has announced that it will examine how Nasdaq Clearing complies with Sweden’s security protection regulatory framework, focusing on the requirement to carry out and document a security protection analysis. The review sits within the authority’s 2025 supervisory focus on the ability of banks and financial firms to perform their functions in a more uncertain environment. The security protection analysis is described as the foundation for structured and systematic security protection work, requiring a firm to set out what needs to be protected, against what threats, and how. Nasdaq Clearing provides central counterparty clearing services primarily for financial derivatives and commodity derivatives.
