The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan has reminded policyholders of the simplified Europrotocol procedure for submitting compulsory motor insurance claims after a road traffic accident. The process allows the two drivers involved to file directly with an insurer at the scene without calling traffic police or going to court, provided both have valid insurance policies, losses do not exceed 100 monthly calculation indices, there is no disagreement over fault, and the accident caused no injury and no damage to third-party property. To use Europrotocol, both participants must submit the claim through the Europrotocol, DTP.kz or Halyk Kazakhstan mobile applications, or via insurers’ official websites, after completing identification, filling in declarations, and uploading photos and videos from the scene. Drivers must remain at the scene until they receive confirmation that the insurer has accepted the declaration, after which they may leave. The agency said 27,822 accidents have been processed under Europrotocol so far, with KZT 5.5 billion paid out, and that the mechanism shortens claims payment times while reducing pressure on road infrastructure and the courts.
