The Bulgarian National Bank’s Governing Council decided that, from the date Bulgaria adopts the euro, the central bank will publish on its website exchange rates of foreign currencies against the euro and of the euro against foreign currencies for accounting and statistical purposes, using the rates announced by the European Central Bank. From the same date, it will stop publishing a gold price in Bulgarian lev. The decision is taken under Article 12(1) of the Currency Act and is set to apply from the euro adoption date in Bulgaria.

Bulgarian National Bank to publish ECB-based exchange rates against the euro and discontinue BGN gold price data on euro adoption
The Bulgarian National Bank will publish exchange rates of foreign currencies against the euro and vice versa, using European Central Bank rates, once Bulgaria adopts the euro. Concurrently, it will cease publishing gold prices in Bulgarian lev. This decision is based on Article 12(1) of the Currency Act.
