Bank Indonesia and the Central Bank of Timor-Leste have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation on payment and settlement systems and digital financial innovation. The agreement creates a foundation for developing payment connectivity between the two countries, including exploring the use of QRIS Cross-Border. Cooperation will include information exchange and closer central bank relations. The prospective connectivity is intended to make cross-border payments simpler, more efficient, secure and inclusive, supporting transactions and economic activity between Indonesia and Timor-Leste as Bank Indonesia pursues wider expansion of QRIS Cross-Border.
