The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) has decided, by majority, to acquit PricewatherhouseCoopers Auditores Independentes S.A. and Claudia Eliza Medeiros de Miranda (as responsible partner) in an administrative sanctioning proceeding over alleged irregularities in the independent audit of the financial statements of Vince Shopping Centers Fundo de Investimento Imobiliário (FII) for the year ended 31 December 2018, brought under Article 20 of CVM Instruction 308. The proceeding was opened by the Superintendency of Accounting and Audit Standards (SNC). Acting Chair and rapporteur Otto Lobo voted for acquittal and was supported by Director João Accioly. Director Marina Copola partially dissented, voting to impose a warning for alleged failures relating to confirming the existence of assets under NBC TA 200 (R1) (items 11 and 17) and to following up the prior-year estimates of an external appraiser under NBC TA 540 (R1) (items 8, 9 and A39 to A41), while voting to acquit on other alleged breaches of NBC TA 580 (R1), other provisions of NBC TA 540 (R1) and NBC TA 230 (R1).
