The Bank of the Lao P.D.R. published an account of an Aug. 18 meeting at its central region branch in Savannakhet province to brief officials on resolutions from the 12th Party Congress and the fifth congress of the bank’s party organization. The meeting also reviewed the branch’s work in the first half of 2026 and its plans for the second half. Bank leaders instructed party committees and management at all levels to strengthen accountability for operational work, political education and implementation of agreed plans. They also called for stronger inspections, adherence to party leadership principles and measures to prevent misconduct. The meeting involved 85 representatives from banking organizations in Bolikhamxay, Khammouane and Savannakhet provinces.
