The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has finalised its annual assessment of the derogation criteria for Data Reporting Services Providers (DRSPs) using 2024 calendar-year data and confirmed that supervisory designations set in 2024 will remain unchanged. Ten DRSPs supervised directly by ESMA continued to exceed the relevant thresholds, while DRSPs supervised by national competent authorities (NCAs) remained below them. On this basis, ESMA does not expect changes to supervisory responsibilities in 2026 or 2027. ESMA will notify firms of the outcome and continue to monitor developments, engaging with NCAs and supervised entities to support a smooth and transparent supervisory process.
