The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM), working with the Macau Association of Banks, ran a new cycle of the “Banking Experience Programme” to give higher education students practical exposure to banking work and early-stage career orientation, including front, middle and back office functions. The programme ran from October 2025 to January 2026 and combined a “financial masterclass”, group presentations on current topics in the modern financial sector, and on-site observation of professional activities at a bank under the guidance of department heads and experienced staff. Nearly 100 students joined following recommendations from five local higher education institutions via the Consultative Council of the Macao Institute of Financial Training; presentations were assessed by a panel including AMCM representatives and industry professionals, and teams rated “Excellent” received certificates and access to the on-site workplace observation component. AMCM indicated it will continue coordinating resources with the sector, higher education institutions and relevant professional bodies to support the development of a financial talent pipeline for Macao.
