The Bank of Greece reported that insurance corporations’ total assets increased by EUR 978 million, or 4.5%, from the previous quarter to EUR 22.926 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2026. The increase was driven mainly by investment fund shares, which rose to EUR 8.276 billion due to higher prices and net purchases of domestic and foreign shares. Debt securities increased slightly to EUR 10.626 billion, although their share of total assets fell to 46.3%, while equity holdings rose to EUR 1.084 billion. On the liabilities side, insurance technical reserves increased by EUR 503 million to EUR 16.495 billion, including EUR 12.901 billion in life reserves, and own funds rose to EUR 4.161 billion.
