The US National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) announced the availability of Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF) grant funding for low-income-designated (LID) credit unions in 2025 and introduced changes intended to give applicants additional options. NCUA expects to award approximately USD 3,465,000 to 85 to 115 LID credit unions. The application period runs from October 15, 2025 (12:00 p.m. ET) to December 16, 2025 (11:59 p.m. ET). LID credit unions may receive only one award but can apply under two separate initiatives, and an unsuccessful grant application may be converted into a CDRLF loan application. Grants will be offered across six categories, including an Impact Through Innovation pilot initiative providing Phase III funding for 2023 grantees (maximum USD 100,000), New Charter Capacity Building and Underserved Outreach (maximum USD 50,000 each), and Student Internships, Technology, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence, and Training (maximum USD 25,000 each); the average CDRLF grant award in 2024 was USD 26,000. To apply, a credit union must have the low-income designation and an active System for Award Management registration with annual recertification; further details are set out in the Notice of Funding Opportunity published in the Federal Register.
