The Central Bank of Cuba has published an update on a reference guide developed with the Local Self-Sufficiency for Sustainable and Healthy Food project, known as ALASS, compiling financing mechanisms available to Cuba’s agricultural producers as of July 2026. The guide seeks to improve awareness and use of financing for local agrifood systems. The available mechanisms include credit, development funds, agricultural promotion funds and subsidies. The initiative focuses on producers in the six municipalities covered by ALASS, although the financing opportunities may be available nationally, subject to the procedures and legal frameworks established by the responsible Cuban institutions.
