The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) held a workshop under its TIPS Clone project to plan and synchronise activities for the testing phase of a future platform intended to enable instant payments in Montenegro. More than 50 members of project teams from the CBCG and banks operating in Montenegro participated. The session was delivered by Fabien Depasse of Paylume, the consulting firm supporting the CBCG and the banking sector on the project, and covered key topics for the upcoming testing phase ahead of implementation scheduled to commence on 20 July 2026. The TIPS Clone system is intended to enable real-time payments and support faster, safer and more efficient transactions, while creating conditions for further development of digital services and strengthening the competitiveness of Montenegro’s financial sector.
