The Ministry of Economy and Finance convened the 2026 Knowledge Sharing Program conference and proposed four priorities for using policy cooperation to support inclusive AI and digital transformation. These cover AI infrastructure and legal frameworks, digital transformation across sectors alongside clean energy transition, specialized AI workforce development, and stronger international cooperation to address the technology’s cross-border effects. The ministry plans to design related initiatives jointly with partner countries through the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP). The conference highlighted KSP advice that has led to implementation, including smart city cooperation in Kenya and a regulatory sandbox for digital finance and fintech in Uzbekistan. Under a three-year operating plan first prepared in June, the program will introduce strategically planned projects focused on AI and digital technology, supply chains, green development and culture. It will also strengthen links between KSP policy advice and follow-on financing or investment through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund, multilateral development banks and the private sector.
