The Bank of Cape Verde reported that its Behavioral Supervision Office participated in ADECO’s “Easy Financial Services for Everyone” project, delivering consumer-focused sessions aimed at improving understanding and safe use of financial services. Sessions were held on 30 April, 14, 15, 16 and 26 May, and 6 to 7 June 2025 across Santiago, São Vicente, Santo Antão, Sal and Boavista, with 258 adults participating. Topics covered included financial products and services, payment services with a focus on the legal framework and security in digital channels, and consumer protection for financial services in Cape Verde across banking, capital markets and insurance. The Bank linked its involvement to a protocol with ADECO on promoting financial education nationally and to its statutory responsibility to promote financial education under the Basic Law of the Financial System, with the initiative intended to strengthen financial literacy, awareness of consumer rights, and knowledge of complaints and protection mechanisms.
