The National Bank of Belgium has announced the appointment of Tom Dechaene as vice-governor by royal decree dated 14 February 2026. Dechaene will combine the vice-governor role with his existing position as a director of the National Bank of Belgium, which he has held since 24 December 2014. Steven Vanackere is named as his predecessor.

The National Bank of Belgium appointed Tom Dechaene as vice-governor by royal decree on 14 February 2026. Dechaene will retain his role as director, a position he has held since 2014. He succeeds Steven Vanackere.
