The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam announced it will continue running socialisation sessions for business machine owners following the launch of the New Family Banknotes Series. It advised owners to complete calibration exercises so machines can recognise and accept the new banknotes once they enter circulation in the first half of 2026. The outreach covers owners and operators of business machines including parking and vending machines and payment kiosks. The central bank also reiterated that existing banknotes will remain legal tender and continue to circulate alongside the new series, and encouraged machine owners that have not yet joined the sessions to engage with its Currency Management team.
