The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority said its chairman, Islam Azam, has instructed the Egyptian Compulsory Motor Insurance Pool to expedite payment of compensation to the families of those killed and injured in the collision on the ring road in the Al Salam area. The direction followed the accident’s reported heavy human and material losses and focuses on immediate contact with affected families and faster claims handling. Under the compulsory motor insurance framework, compensation is set at EGP 100,000 for each death. Compensation for injuries will be determined according to the percentage of disability established by the medical commission, in line with the Unified Insurance Law No. 155 of 2024 and within the applicable insurance coverage limits. Payments are to be made once the accident documents are received and completed and the validity of the compulsory insurance policy is confirmed. The pool’s executive director said its representatives will contact the victims’ families to collect the required documents so that compensation payments can begin as quickly as possible.
