The Central Bank of Cyprus published updated aggregated non-performing loan data for the Cypriot banking sector with a reference date of 30 April 2025, showing the sector’s Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) ratio falling to 5.9% from 6.1% at end-March 2025. The decline was mainly attributed to repayments, positive movements in performing loans, write-offs and exchange rate fluctuations. The coverage ratio of Non-Performing Exposures (NPEs) with bad provisions increased to 60.7% from 60.5%, while total restructured loans stood at EUR 1.3 billion, of which EUR 0.7 billion remained included in NPEs.

The coverage ratio for Non-Performing Exposures (NPEs) rose slightly to 60.7%, with total restructured loans at EUR 1.3 billion, of which EUR 0.7 billion are still classified as NPEs.
