The Central Bank of Oman announced that the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance, is hosting an International Monetary Fund mission for the annual Article IV consultations, with meetings running until 24 November 2025. The mission will meet officials across government bodies including the Ministry of Economy, National Centre for Statistics and Information, Ministry of Labour, Tax Authority, and Investment Authority, alongside representatives from the private and banking sectors, civil society organizations, and academic institutions. Discussions are expected to cover recent macroeconomic developments and outlook, fiscal and monetary policies, financial sector development, structural reforms, and work linked to Oman Vision 2040, with focus areas including economic diversification, job creation, private sector growth, and sustainability and resilience. The visit follows a preparatory mission conducted from 21 to 29 May 2025. Following the consultations, the IMF delegation will issue a press release summarizing the visit and key outcomes and will submit a detailed report on Oman’s economic and financial situation to the IMF Executive Board.
