The Central Bank of Russia published its annual measure of foreign participation in the aggregate authorised capital of regulated firms, showing a slight decline as of 1 January 2026. Foreign equity accounted for 5.84% of the aggregate authorised capital of credit institutions with banking licences and 3.16% of that of insurance companies, compared with 5.86% and 3.69%, respectively, a year earlier. For credit institutions, foreign investments counted for this measure totalled RUB 199.551 billion against aggregate authorised capital of RUB 3,417.159 billion. For insurance companies, the corresponding figures were RUB 8.384 billion in foreign investments and RUB 265.504 billion in aggregate authorised capital. The Central Bank of Russia said it calculates and publishes the indicator annually in line with legal requirements.
