The Central Bank of Nicaragua maintained its 2026 economic growth forecast at 3.5%–4.5% after positive performance in key macroeconomic indicators through the third quarter. It raised the inflation forecast to 3.5%–4.5% from the 2.5%–3.5% range projected in its July Monetary and Exchange Rate Policy Report, reflecting international price pressures and climate related disruptions to agricultural production. The central bank projects average unemployment of 3%–3.5% and retained its current account surplus forecast at 7%–8% of gross domestic product. Risks include geopolitical conflicts, higher oil prices, trade policy uncertainty and the effects of El Niño conditions.
