The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) has appointed Scott Gregson as Chief Executive Officer, with a start date of 17 March 2025. He will join from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and succeeds ASIC’s retiring interim CEO, Greg Yanco. ASIC Chair Joe Longo said Gregson was selected following an executive search of domestic and international candidates and framed the appointment as the next step in ASIC’s transformation following its most significant redesign in 15 years. The release also notes recent senior leadership appointments over the past 12 months, including new Executive Directors for Enforcement and Compliance, Regulation and Supervision, and Data, Digital and Technology, as well as a Chief People, Culture and Transformation Officer. Gregson is currently the ACCC’s CEO and has spent nearly 30 years at the agency, including senior roles in mergers and enforcement and leading the ACCC’s digital and data transformation program.
