The National Bank of Romania reported that the country’s international reserves declined to EUR 74.972 billion at July 31, 2026, from EUR 75.259 billion at June 30. Foreign exchange reserves fell to EUR 63.230 billion from EUR 63.493 billion. Foreign exchange inflows totaled EUR 988 million, while outflows reached EUR 1.251 billion, including about EUR 697 million in principal and interest payments on foreign currency-denominated public debt. Gold holdings remained unchanged at 103.6 metric tons and were valued at EUR 11.742 billion. Foreign currency public debt payments due in August 2026, either direct or guaranteed by the Ministry of Finance, total about EUR 1.468 billion.
