Russia's Ministry of Finance published an account of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko's meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui, covering bilateral trade, payments, transportation and tourism. Chernyshenko said trade reached a record high in the first seven months of 2026 and forecast a full-year total of USD 270 billion to USD 275 billion, with both countries targeting USD 300 billion by 2030. Mutual tourist trips doubled from the same period in 2025, while Russia aims to attract up to 5.5 million Chinese tourists by 2030. The countries are considering expanded air and cross-border road links, and preparations continue for a cable car between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe. Russia also launched Pay in Russia in 2026, a cashless payment service integrated with Chinese payment systems.
