Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Payment System Association launched the Indonesia Credit Card, a domestically processed deferred-payment instrument for QRIS Scan and Tap transactions. Bank Indonesia also expanded its 0% QRIS merchant discount rate to reduce transaction costs across all merchant categories from Oct. 1, 2026. The 0% rate will continue to apply to micro merchants for transactions of up to IDR 500,000 and will extend to small, medium and large merchants for transactions of up to IDR 100,000, replacing the previous 0.7% rate for those payments. Eight payment service providers had issued the Indonesia Credit Card as of Aug. 17, 2026, including one offering Islamic financing, with further development of features and services planned. As of June 2026, QRIS had 65.77 million users and 44.86 million merchants, 96.68% of which were micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
