Brazil’s National Treasury, via the Tesouro Direto programme, and B3 announced the five finalists of the second edition of TD Impacta, committing more than BRL 4.5 million to pilot projects focused on financial education, mathematics learning and innovative uses of TD Garantia to broaden access to financial services. Run by Artemisia, the programme’s second edition targets more mature businesses and is structured around three challenges. Two finalists for teacher-focused financial education solutions and two finalists for AI-based educational assistants for maths and financial education will each receive non-reimbursable funding of up to BRL 250,000 to develop proofs of concept over up to five months, with the strongest projects potentially progressing to B3 collaborations of up to BRL 1.5 million and BRL 1 million, respectively. A single finalist addressing innovative applications of TD Garantia, a product that allows Tesouro Direto investors to use government bonds as collateral in financial transactions such as rental contracts and loans, can receive up to BRL 750,000 to implement its proposal. The selected businesses are Me Poupe! and Teachy (challenge 1), Emy Education and Matific (challenge 2), and Emana Pay (challenge 3). The five finalists are now starting pilots and proofs of concept in public schools, communities and digital platforms, after which the highest-performing projects may move into the stated follow-on collaboration stages with B3.
