MFSA Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Farrugia set out the Authority’s expectation that innovation should be matched with appropriate oversight and supported by sound governance. The agenda covered the regulatory implications of digital assets, EU regulatory developments and macroprudential supervision of investment funds, alongside panels on supervisory priorities, international coordination, private markets, new fund structures and related oversight challenges. MFSA representatives also discussed fund structures and the Authority’s supervisory approach, with the regulator framing the event as part of its ongoing engagement with fund managers and other stakeholders.
