The South Korea Financial Supervisory Service reported that foreign investors bought a net KRW 344 billion of listed stocks in August 2026, returning to net buying for the first time in eight months. They sold a net KRW 4.736 trillion of listed bonds, switching to net selling for the first time in four months. Net stock purchases were led by investors from the Americas, particularly the United States, while European and Asian investors were net sellers. Bond outflows were concentrated in Korean Treasury bonds and securities with less than one year remaining to maturity. Foreign investors held KRW 2,280.6 trillion of listed stocks, or 34.8% of market capitalization, and KRW 330.3 trillion of listed bonds, or 11.4% of the market.
