The European Payments Council (EPC) has opened a public consultation on whether, and how, it should be involved in supporting interoperability of payment solutions based on the SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst) scheme at the point of interaction (POI). The consultation is part of the EPC payment schemes change management process and runs from 6 March to 10 April 2026. It follows an EPC workshop held in November 2025, where feedback suggested that interoperability aspects for SCT Inst scheme-based solutions at the POI, and the EPC’s potential role in this area, require further reflection. Stakeholders are invited to submit input via the EPC response form by 10 April 2026 at 18:00 CET, after which submissions will not be considered. The EPC will share a summary of the feedback with contributors and, depending on the responses received, may convene a dedicated workshop with relevant stakeholder representatives to discuss potential further EPC involvement and the most effective approaches.
