The commission said it will never call individuals or businesses to ask for passwords, PINs, one-time passcodes, full account numbers or internet banking credentials, and any such request made in its name should be treated as fraudulent. Recipients of suspicious calls are being told to hang up immediately, avoid using numbers provided by the caller, contact their bank or financial institution through official published channels, record details of the call and report the incident. The commission is assisting the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force in investigating the incidents and identifying those responsible.
