The Guernsey Financial Services Commission published a statement welcoming Guernsey’s recognition at the WealthBriefing Wealth for Good Awards 2026, where the island won the Sustainability Programme (UK) category. In that context, the Commission presented the award as recognition of Guernsey’s sustainable and responsible investment framework and of the combined work of government, industry and the regulator in building a sustainable finance ecosystem. As support for that position, the Commission pointed to regulatory measures intended to promote credible sustainable finance products and subject sustainability claims to standards and verification. It cited the Guernsey Green Fund, described as the world’s first regulated green fund regime, the Natural Capital Fund designation for investment schemes that contribute positively to nature or significantly reduce harm, and a green capital regime for life insurers aimed at encouraging investment in suitable green assets. The statement also referred to Guernsey’s broader activity in humanitarian catastrophe bonds, reinsurance structures and responsible captive insurance structures.
